We use this persona to share big drums with Renaissance faires, Norse festivals, and other events where Japanese Taiko might be limiting or not the right fit. It also gives us a place to play with fun ideas and concepts that don't quite belong in our Taiko performances.

Historical Note: Yes, we know these are not period Viking drums. Unlike most instruments that Viking groups play, these did exist during the Viking Age — just not in Europe. While we formed this group to perform at events spanning various periods of history, we would not play this music at any serious Viking re-enactment event. So please indulge our indiscretions and have some fun! If you'd like to sit down and talk period Viking instruments — lyres, frame drums, flutes, rattles, and more — we'd love that too.
